I wrote many "A" papers/essays in high school. I was like Baldwin and Malcolm X.....but, also very goofy, child-like and eccentric (basically, the same, now). I'm posting a link to one of the essays I wrote, when I was 15 years old. The second link is to a correspondence between myself and my high school Principal. It was regarding a Black History performance I wanted to conceive and direct---for Manchester High School (Chesterfield, Virginia). The Principal replied to my request. Keep in mind, the early 1990's had a lot of political stuff popping off (L.A. riots, conscious rap music......later, the Million Man March). In a majority white high school and suburb, I was sometimes viewed as the nuisance......from New York City.
