This is one of those things that makes me realize why I love inspiring others. It inspires me, also. This is by far, one of my favorite cards.
The teachers created these strips, for each other; during Teacher Appreciation week. Every now and then, I look at these strips....if I need a good booster, for the day (no joke).
Oh, my GOSH. This card is FUNNY AS HELL!!!! I love what Cindy gave me and I sincerely keep this in my heart, always.....BUT, you HAVE to see how F$*#@ FUNNY this card is!! I was Cindy's reading and ESL teacher.....so, I empathized with her journey. But DAMN, this is STILL funny. Obviously, she meant "peace".
I was so pleased to receive this farewell card from the Spanish class of Central High School. Central High School was my first teaching job. I was a daily, "in-house" substitute teacher. I worked there, from:
October,1998---March, 1999. Many of those teenagers were wild as hell!! I was only 22 years old (I started, when I was 21)....so, I was just a few years older than the students.
Fielding a discussion on global warming, after our viewing of "An Inconvenient Truth".
Wow, I'm getting old. As you can see from the previous photos, I first met Pedro, when he was 10 years old (a wise-cracking, sarcastic, martial arts-obsessed, 10 year old---haha). He's 23, in this photo.
Ahhh....6th graders. There were some strong personalities, in here.
They could be annoying.....but, gotta love the 1st graders.
I was on a field trip with my students, in the Science Museum.
My 6th grade class....right before the Christmas break.
Self-explanatory.
My Drama students.
Drama Club photo shoot.
The girls were recording their voice-over roles, for our original,
5-minute radio Drama.
I treated the kids to see the off-Broadway play, "Sizwe Banzai Is Dead". The central theme was apartheid, in South Africa.
Meeting with parents.
Pedro's such a ham.
We're all preparing to go to the field trip. Notice Pedro in the background, still doing Karate!!
